The streets and landmarks of Le Plateau

The very popular Prince-Arthur Street, a pedestrian street with many bars and restaurants, is located on Le Plateau-Mont-Royal. Many restaurants on Prince-Arthur Street have terraces and encourage customers to bring their own wine. Other important streets on the Plateau-Mont-Royal include Saint-Laurent Boulevard, Saint-Denis Street, Mont-Royal Avenue and Sherbrooke Street. The famous Saint-Laurent Boulevard

Saint-Laurent Boulevard is locally called « La Main », because it is considered by many to be the main street of Montreal. Saint-Laurent Boulevard is also the dividing line of Montreal between the English-speaking community of Montreal in the West and its French-speaking community in the East. Some of the important landmarks on this street include Shwartz's Deli, which is famous for its smoked meat. But what distinguishes Saint-Laurent Boulevard is its trendy bars, clubs and high-end stores.
